Makers of Fine Wood Flooring, Stair Parts
and Millwork from Recycled Timbers

In the last twenty years or so, there have been many companies forming with our idea in mind. The prices of reclaimed woods are slightly higher than new growth wood, but the quality of reclaimed virgin timber far surpasses that of new growth wood. Also, the recycling companies receive no government subsidies. Buildings and various structures have to be carefully taken apart - instead of demolished. The materials have to be metal detected to assure that all bolts, nails and other foreign objects have been removed, then resawn and milled to specific orders. This is a labor intensive project, but when you see the finished product, it makes it all worthwhile.

At James & Company, we network with many of the recycling companies in the U.S., so if we happen to not have a certain product in stock, we can usually locate it for you in a few hours. We hope you will consider reclaimed wood for your next project.

Quotes"You can't find 1,000 year old timbers at Home Depot. Chances are you can at James & Company. If you need vintage wood any size, any kind, any shape, Donnie probably has it. Paris has the Mona Lisa - Donnie has the wood, and a bunch of my money!"
MARTY STUART - Singer-Songwriter, Photographer, and Country Music Legend & Friend (You too, Connie!)

"We've had great luck matching timbers in hard to find dimensions. Both the industrial and agricultural materials have been of very good structure and aesthetic quality. We also appreciate the willingness of Donnie (James & Company) to discuss the material and design options with us to help us fill our orders and complete our project."
FRED ZAHN of Grau General Contracting - Nashville,

"Just as every structure needs a good foundation; your recycled flooring has provided an elegant base for some of my most satisfying rooms."

"The weathered fir siding supplied by Donnie James was used throughout the reconstruction of Old Tucson Studios…Doors, windows and trim supplied by Donnie saved us a lot of time and money by allowing us to install them with minimal preparation as compared to custom building doors and windows to achieve that 1880's look. Using authentic materials really makes a difference - better results with less cost in less time."
Dave Burns, Burns and Wald-Hopkins Architects, Tucson, Arizona

"Donnie had recently completed the interior trim work on a large custom home that I had designed, so I felt confident that his ability to shape the timbers for my needs was unmatched by any other craftsman. Not only did the trellis turn out as a superb work of wood artistry, we also decided to use the timbers to rebuild a decaying sunroom at the same residence. The owners and I couldn't be happier with the results and we both credit Donnie's foresight & knowledge of woods to incorporate the reclaimed materials into the design. Hats off to the James Company!"

The material he has supplied for wood flooring, paneling, and beams has greatly complemented our high end residential projects Donnie has worked tirelessly to supply our special requests we have had and we look forward to our future collaborations with James and Company."

Quote"It is a pleasure to take a few minutes to recommend someone who is so rare in this business world. Donnie James is the most reliable person I have met in the last few years. I have commented to my office manager and associate on several occasions that Donnie goes the extra mile to honor his commitments. Also his attention to detail and craftsmanship is a welcomed relief in this day of mediocre workmanship."
